Airline_Mile_Credit_Cards.html Credit Card Basics

Travel Reward Credit Cards basically operate in the same way as Airline Mile Credit Cards, except with travel reward credit cards there are fewer opportunities to get free flights. You can however earn points toward hotel stays, car rentals, attractions and other travel related services.

Many people choose to instead opt for a credit card affiliated with their favorite hotel chain; basically what's known as an "affinity hotel card". This alternative option might be better than getting a generic travel reward credit card that accumulates points toward services that you may not be interested in. Hotel affinity cards often come with the same attractive discounts, and bonus offers that travel reward credit cards do.

While a hotel affinity credit card does earn bonuses, and saves money, versus travel reward credit cards, the currency, or value of the points that accumulate, might be less than that of the travel reward credit card. Before signing a contract, compare one card category to the other, and be sure that you're getting your money's worth.
